As in Sapa, many weekly markets are available in this area: Can Cau on Saturday, Bac Ha on Sunday and Coc Ly on Tuesday. Anyone of them offers us a great chance to intermingle with hill tribes living surrounding Bac Ha, inclusive of Flower H’Mong, Tay, Dzay, Dzao, San Diu, Kinh gathering for meeting, dating, hanging around, shopping and exchanging goods, especially fabrics and handicrafts. After enjoying the market for 2-3 hours, we can visit a village nearby the marketplace, or take a boat on Chay River (only for Coc Ly market) or leave for Lao Cai and have a look at the Chinese border in Lao Cai.
